Made from black fireclay, each Pressure Bowl is unique. While the bowls have a collective and characteristic graphic appearance, each contains irregularities from the physical process of hand-making. Extruded strips of black fireclay are first arranged in a rectilinear grid; pressure is then exerted from above, forcing the strips on the top to intersect and bond with ones below. Collaboration with Ramona Gschwend.
